Preschool Program

At Saint Ferdinand Catholic School, we recognize the importance of early childhood education in fostering good habits of faith and studies. Our preschool program is fully integrated with our regular school program and reflects the holistic and challenging Catholic academic program that we offer for grades kindergarten through eighth grades. It offers our youngest Vikings the opportunity to master the foundational skills, particulary in math, that will allow them to continue into kindergarten successfully.

Preschool Mission Statement
Saint Ferdinand Catholic Preschool serves children 3 years old and potty trained through Pre-Kindergarten.  The school commits its personnel and resources to providing a well-rounded program to develop the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, and social skills of our students.  The foundation of our educational program is centered in the teachings and example of Christ and the traditions of our Catholic Faith.  Our students are being prepared t be full participants in their faith and the community in which they live.  Saint Ferdinand Catholic Preschool is authorized by the Los Angeles Archdiocese and operates in accordance with the guidelines of the Archdiocesan Department of Education.

Preschool Philosophy
The Philosophy of education at Saint Ferdinand Catholic Preschool is centered in Christ.  It is concerned with the spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical development of the child.  The Church and the Preschool recognize the parent as the primary educator of the child.  The Catholic School, in conjunction with the parent, is the educational setting by which knowledge, culture, and values are developed within the child.  In accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church, the school is committed to helping the students grow in their appreciation of the goodness of God, the power of the Holy Spirit prayer, a sense of community, knowledge of their faith and the teachings of Jesus Christ, and the love of the Holy Lady.  Through the examples of the faculty, parents, and parish, our students can experience the Good News of Christ.  The Church and the school share the responsibility of providing a loving, warm, secure, environment where your children receive Christian instruction and training.  We also strengthen and support the parents in their efforts.
