6th Grade -
Science
1. Apply scientific methods to problem solving
2. Distinguish between living and non-living things, how living things
survive, interact with their surrounding, what they are made up of,
and how they are named
3. Identify characteristics of different groups of living things like
bacteria, viruses, fungi, plants, and animals
4. Recognize and appreciate the resources that the Earth and sun provide
such as water, air, soil, sunlight, and minerals, ect.
5. Describe various rocks and minerals on Earth, the structure of Earth
how earthquakes occur, and the weathering and erosion phenomenon
6. Identify the position of the planet earth in the universe
7. Identify changes of matter and motion and forces that act on matter
Math
1. Multiply and divide fractions
2. Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators
3. Multiply and divide decimals
4. Change decimals to fractions and vise versa
5. Find percent of a number, ect.
A. Find % of one number compared to another
B. Find the number when the % is known
C. Change % to decimals and vice versa
D. Change % to fractions and vice versa
6. Ratios and proportions
7. Know mean, median, mode and range
8. Bar graphs, line graphs, line plots

7th Grade -
Science
1. Apply scientific methods to problem solving
2. Differentiate between English and metric system of units
3. Identify cells and describe processes that take place in the cells
like regulating all the systems in a living thing, reproduction and
carrying traits from generation to generation
4. Identify ways in which living things interact with the non living
environment
5. Understand the relationship of earth in the solar system and the
universe
6. Identify the building block of matter and describe properties and
changes in matter

1. Introduction to algebra - expressions (numerical and algebraic)
2. Order of operations
3. Integers - comparing and ordering
4. Integers - addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

8th Grade -
Science
1. Apply scientific method to problem solving
2. Gain knowledge about the universe namely planets, stars , galaxies,
ect. And be able to locate the position of earth in the universe
3. Identify the various human body systems and describe parts of each
system
4. Be able to determine the role of genes in inheritance and changes
due to adaptation
5. Explain causes of weather and climate changes on earth
6. Identify parts of an atom, the role it plays in the formation of
molecules to form various chemicals
7. State Newton's laws of motion and effect of forces on solids, liquids
and gases
Math
1. Writing and solving equations
2. Probability and statistics
3. Coordinate plane
4. Introduction to geometry (various shapes)
5. Square roots and right triangles
6. Quadratic formula

Homework Policies and General Class Rules:
Math homework
- Due next class unless otherwise instructed
- All work to be done in pencil
- Late work earns ½ credit
- Follow all directions or loose credit
Science homework
- All work turned in should be complete (incomplete work is ½
credit)
- Bring all materials required for activities or no participation!
- All homework to be turned in on the day it is due (late work no credit!)
Class Rules
1. Remain quiet and seated throughout entire
class
2. Be polite and respectful
3. Have all required materials for class
4. Concentrate on your own work
5. Wear uniform well and with PRIDE!!!
